Applying relations between models

Apply relations between models (or a self-referencing relation) using drag and drop in the schema view.

As you add additional models, you also need to apply the relationship details between models. The following provides a brief example of how you create a relationship between two models in the schema view.

1. Use the pointer to click on the Arrow (➜) button and use the grab pointer icon, drag and drop the handle displayed from the source to the target model. You can drag the handle to any model.

2. Drop the grab on the target model. The Select relation type window is displayed.

3. Select the option for the type of relationship you want to create.

4. You can click on the Close (X) button to return to the schema view without assigning a relation.

You can also create a relation that self-references the model:

These types of relationships involve only a single mode.

Team roles in an organization. For example, an Employee model represents the employees in an organization. Various employees can be assigned as supervisors or team leaders for multiple employees.

An employee is an employee of an organization and simultaneously the supervisor of multiple employees.

To apply a self-referencing relation:

1. Use the pointer to click on the Arrow (➜) button. Using the grab pointer icon, drag and drop the handle displayed.

2. Drop the grab onto the model itself. The Select relation type window is displayed.

3. Select t­­­he appropriate option for the type of relationship you want to create:
