  • How create a new page using the Page Builder
  • How create a new page using Endpoints

In Betty Blocks, you can create webpages. This can be done by either the Page Builder or using Custom HTML, CSS and Javascript. Both have their strengths and serve for different purposes in your application.

How to create a web page using the Page Builder

The Page Builder is a drag and drop editor. You can build pages without the need to write code. You'll just have to drag and drop building blocks onto your webpage. Want to know more about the Page Builder, take a look at What is the UI Builder?

In order to create a web page using the Page Builder, you'll have to click the Pages icon located in the Builder Bar.

Click New page in the top left corner.
Creating a new Page Builder web page is not difficult to do. Click on the New page button located in the top left corner. A popup will show where you'll have to select the UI Builder option.

Choose one of the layouts, or create one yourself.
Another popup will show up, giving you the option to choose between some predefined layouts. However, if you want to build your own layout you can select the No layout option to create your own.

Choose one of the content types, or create one yourself.
Once you have chosen one of the layouts you will be given the choice between some content types. Content types are, just like the predefined layouts, types of predefined content for you web page. Just like the layouts you can choose one of the predefined content types or create one yourself by selecting the blank page option.

Give the web page a path and description.
You're almost there! In the last step, all you have to do is enter a path value and a description. Path is used to define what value needs to be entered in the browser's URL to visit the page. Description doesn't actually do anything, but it's quite handy to see what the page's purpose is in the page overview.

Click on the Finish button. Congratulations!

Now it is time to customize it to your liking.

How to create a web page using the Endpoints

Want to build webpages using Custom HTML, Javascript or choose between different HTTP methods to retrieve or to create data in the application, then you'll have to use Endpoints. Endpoints are, as opposed to Pages, fully coded.

In order to create a web page using Custom HTML, you'll have to click the Endpoints icon located in the Builder Bar.

In order to create a web page using Endpoints you'll need to click on the New endpoint button located in the top left corner. A popup will show where you'll have to select the fill in the path, specify the request method and description.

Click on the Finish button in order to create the web page. You'll be directed to the endpoint's edit form, where additional settings can be set.

Congratulations! You have successfully created your web page using an Endpoint. In order to visit your web page, you'll have to click the URL or type it directly into your browser URL bar.
