List of release notes 2024.1

Updated over 7 months ago

Over the last two weeks, we have been working on improvements to the platform. In this blog post, you can see a simple list of what has been changed, updated, and/or what bugs have been fixed. Read more about the release notes here.

New features & improvements

Pages

  • When adding a non-property based hidden input component to an existing Form, you now have an action input type selector to choose the wanted type. Before, this flow was always creating a Text action input variable by default.

Data

  • Schema models: As a builder, you are now able to create, update and delete schema model properties in a no-code way. Read more in docs.

My Betty Blocks

  • Updated the disclaimer text for blocks not published by Betty Blocks to mention the terms and conditions.

Fixes

Pages

  • The Checkbox group component did not show the Label property (set on the Model) by default when used at runtime.

  • Page Actions are not persisted when the Page creation process fails.

  • The Email input component did not show the correct validation message when entering a non-email value.

  • Pages at runtime were resulting in an error when selecting an item in the Autocomplete component that did not have a label value ( --empty-- ).

Up next

Pages

  • Page variables: Soon, we will publicly release the new Object page variables.

Data sources

  • HTTP step: Upcoming 2 weeks, we will update the native HTTP step with the ability to select a schema model and choose a type for your output response. With this update, you will reduce the number of action steps needed to build a functional data source from 7-8 to max 2 steps.

Actions

  • AI Smart search functionality:

    • This step allows you to search through data with natural language rather than keyword search.

  • Convert docs to text functionality:

    • With this step you can easily convert documents like docx, pdf, images, excel, to text. When it’s text, you can use it in other steps of your action.

My Betty Blocks

  • The app gallery: Share the inventory of applications built by the company to inspire new projects to be added on the roadmap, prevent making the same solution twice, and drive the adoption of applications.

Education

  • The design course in the advanced path will be updated with an in-depth guide on how to set up a more detailed home page, using a hero header.

  • Documentation will be created about more AI action steps, assisting users in enabling AI in their applications.
