Sending mail from Betty Blocks apps is done through Mandrill (mandrillapp.com). Mandrill requires that the sender-domain is verified before it can be used to send mail. If your domain isn't verified yet, you'll receive error: unsigned  when executing your mail event. Here's how you can tackle this.

The following steps can be followed to get verified: 

  1. In the DNS settings of your domain, add a SPF record (TXT) to the main domain with the value:
v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ?all

If a SPF-record already exists, add:

include:spf.mandrillapp.com


2. In the DNS settings of your domain, add a TXT record to subdomain mandrill._domainkey with the value:

v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;


3. Contact BettyBlocks and give them an email address on which a verification email can be received. This has to be an emailaddress from the domain that you want to send mail from.

4. Send the verification email to support@bettyblocks.com
After the above steps and verification of the domain you can send mail from the domain with the betty app.

Using your own SMTP server to send mails

If the method above still doesn't suffice, and you want to send mails using your own SMTP server, that's possible too! Although not available through the interface, we can do this for you. Contact support to have it set up.
